Breakfast Session

8:00 - 8:50

Power of Failure.

NASA’s famous lead flight director Gene Kranz said, “Failure is not an option.” And yet, the Apollo 13 flight was one failure after another. What learning comes from failure? How do we handle tactical failure in order to achieve a strategic victory? What failures do we observe and what are the key learning points?

Fundamentals in HR

From Hiring to Firing

1:00 - 2:45

Summary
In this segment we address one of the most underserved areas of modern leadership and management – the elements of HR relative to your position of leadership. While some look at HR as an unnecessary drag on business, others implement HR in a heavy way that could impede business. We help attendees understand the most important role of HR for their situation. We explore three critical HR functions and how the leader can do these functions in a way that keeps them and their organization protected during hiring, firing, and coaching processes.

The Final Follower

Not everything is leadership. Too often we say about some action “that was great leadership” when in reality what occurred was not leadership at all.
